Adolescent Psychology

Question: Pick a topic that we have covered or will cover in class. For example parenting. If you have another topic related to adolescence that is not listed, check with me should be fine but better to check.

Provide an overview of the theory/concepts .For example four types of parenting based upon level of control/level of warmth, other factors. Some detail (This section should be about a page or so).(this can be based upon textbook/lecture/films we watched/additional information is okay but not needed)

Look at your experiences, for this example you would share style your parents used, and its impact on you. If your topic is not parenting (again parenting is just an example of possible topic area) -describe your experiences as they relate to topic, and factors that impacted you (SES, gender, culture, ethnicity, etc.) Again your experiences and thoughts are important, please share.

Then what style to you use or plan to use and why. (This would apply to Parenting topic only) / For other topics how would you help an adolescent you are working with through the issue you selected, or if you wish how did you address this issue during adolescence. (Or both)
This paper should be around 5 to 7 pages (again more is okay)

Again the topic (parenting) is only an example so your response and areas covered would vary based on the topic you picked. So if you are looking at identity formation you would speak the two factors and the four outcomes, the process you experienced and where you are now and giving example of other stages you have experienced. Also you can provide your thoughts regarding the area addressed strengths /weakness of theory .If you have questions please ask.

Yes you can use parenting as your topic, but make sure you address all aspects that are MAJOR factors in parenting.
