Question: How would women in today's societies feel about their role in Levi-Strauss's view on the Theory of Kinship?

How would women today feel about being called the "supreme gift" only because we have the bodies to reproduce? Women used to be exchanged for other women by their fathers and brothers because men thought simply giving their sisters or daughters to another man was insufficient. In Levi-Strauss's theory, women are objectified to the fullest extent. In Levi-Strauss's three fundamental properties of structuralism, he states that a gift given binds both the recipient and the giver (Sean Butler, Wikki, pg1). We can assume the "gift" Levi-Strauss was referring to was women. For how far women have come in today's society, would we be okay with being exchanged or bought?
