Problem- We found a theoretical spectrum of HCl for FTIR. Now assume that the isotope Cl 37 was used to generate the same spectrum. How would this heavier mass affect the spacing between the signal peaks? Wouldn't the spacing increase as more energy is required to produce a transition and therefore, produce a peak?
