Question 1. In your own words, what is herd immunity?
Question 2. Scientists believe that about 70% of the population would have to be immunized with SARS-CoV-2 in order to gain herd immunity against COVID-19 disease. In 2019, the population of the United States was around 328 million people. How many individuals would have to become infected and survive to possibly create herd immunity in the U.S.?
Question 3. Having circulating antibodies does not mean people will have lifelong immunity to SARS-CoV-2 forever. What other factors may determine the level of immunity?
