Assignment:
Counselors must create trust with clients. Galatians 6:2-NLT says, "Share each other's burdens and fulfill Christ's commandment." Everyone needs personal limits. Healthy partnerships need boundaries. Clients need professional limits. ACA ethics include establishing client limits. Most ethical infractions include boundary-crossing, such as unethical connections with clients or their families. Counselors shouldn't have sexual or professional ties with clients outside the workplace. These limits safeguard the customer against coercion or power imbalance. Counselors can't utilize clients' businesses.
This would generate several partnerships, such as a client who builds websites and a counselor who needs one. Multiple relationships might make a counselor prejudiced, which can affect therapy. A counselor should know counselor-client limits. The counselor must watch for boundary violations. Even if clients stop treatment, the counselor must preserve their well-being. Gal 6:4-5 "Pay attention to your own work, and you won't need to compare yourself to others. We're individually liable for our actions."
