Gabriela, Great post this week. You have looked at this particular situation in multiple ways and touched on the pros and cons of legalizing prostitution. The legalization of prostitution would improve the working conditions for sex workers. I would agree that it would lessen the risk of violence. However, I don't know that it would reduce the chance of health issues such as STDs. There would have to be some policy put in place to ensure the sex workers were following protocol. Also, forcing them to be tested for these STDs would be in the policy as well.

However, this would go against their rights. How would one ensure that sex workers are protected? Would there be designated facilities that these prostitutes could use? Would there be security provided? Even if there is policing, it won't lessen trafficking or protection. ("Why Decriminalization of Sex Work")I think even if it were to be legalized, we would still have a lot of issues regarding this topic.
