Case Study: The purpose of this discussion is to further explore the significance of conducting a contextual analysis. The contextual analysis needs to be completed to better understand the problem. Solutions to the problem cannot be addressed until the contextual analysis is complete, therefore solutions are not an expectation in this assignment. Hospital ED: Violent behavior towards staff in the ED from patients and family members is increasing. A program to train nurses and security personnel in de-escalation techniques was put into place a year ago in response to this issue. It is not known if this program was effective.

Question: The information you would collect to conduct a contextual assessment. Please address each of the 5 P's (at the local level; Gerard, et al., 2012 ) in your response. For each component of the 5Ps tell us the process you would use to collect the information. "Where" and "how" would you obtain the information. What we are asking you to make is a sort of template of questions that you might ask to conduct a contextual analysis for the given scenario ----- not that you provide us the information. For example you do not have to craft a theoretical mission, population or care team but rather say where would you look to find out the mission? How would go about learning the population? What kinds of things would you want to know about the care team?
