Use the steps of the scientific method to solve a problem in real life. Think of a problem, describe the problem, and then explain how the scientific method can be used to help solve the problem. Be sure to clearly address each step of the scientific method in your response. State your observations and hypothesis, give relevant details on how you would design the experiments, what data are to be gathered, how the results will be analyzed, and what the conclusion would be based on your anticipated results.

For example, suppose you come home one evening and flick the light switch only to find that the light doesn't turn on. What is your hypothesis? How will you test that hypothesis? Based on the result of this test, what are your conclusions?
