As a part of your LEAD 1000: Self-Leadership online course, you will prepare a Personal Leadership Development Plan. This plan will be informed by the personal lens through which you observe both your leadership and the leadership of others.

Your personal Leadership Development Plan will be built on the foundation of your core values. Your personal core values, as we have looked at this semester, shape who you are as an individual and how you lead. In leadership terms, your core values guide how you conceptualize your role as a contributing member of your community, work, and society at large.

For this assignment, you will look to the future and decide how you want to grow and develop your leadership. As you work on your plan, reflect on what you have learned in our course and incorporate those ideas and concepts as appropriate. Your goal for this assignment is to take what you have learned in our course and to integrate that with what you know about yourself to create your initial personal Leadership Development Plan. (Keep in mind that a personal Leadership Development Plan is a fluid document that you begin shaping now and will continue to reshape as you grow and develop as a leader.)

Construct your Leadership Development Plan with the following questions and concepts in mind:

Core Values

• How will you put your core values into action in your plan?

Developmental Areas & Commitments

• What are 3 commitments you are making as you pursue your personal leadership development?

Short and Long Term Goals
