Case Study: As the CEO for a metropolitan community-based hospital in a downtown environment with several other hospitals located within a two (2) mile radius, you have learned your labor issues have worsened over a 3-day holiday weekend due to several resignations and staff no-shows. The current labor status in your hospital is troublesome and needs attention to avoid the closing of units and services, and the decline in the quality of service that could have severe long-term repercussions.

Questions: Ironically, today is your quarterly Board meeting and will necessitate you providing the Board with an update on the labor issue.
