During this module, you will learn about the essential elements of information gathering, analysis of marketing information, and how marketing decisions are made based on this analysis and applied to different industries. Being able find relevant, quality information for your work is essential. In this assignment, you will practice this area of research, to prepare you for later assignments and modules. This assignment is designed to take you through the research process and asks you to identify relevant sources of academic information to support the second part of your assignment - the report. In these posters, you will apply four areas of marketing theory and apply these to your chosen organisation.
For this assessment, you will complete a research outline for Barclays using the template provided. You will also write a short personal reflection on the process of completing the assignment, to encourage you to assess your own strengths and areas for development, and to develop your critical thinking skills. Please write a reflection up to five houndred words. You will later use the research plan to help you collect and collate material.
Structure: You need to include the following sections in your research plan using the template provided:
• Organisation Barclays:
• Aim of the project - what is the overall purpose of your research?
• Objectives: these will guide the work you actually do, keeping you focused on the topic: o What do you hope to achieve by completing a research plan? - be specific o What do you need to find out in order to complete the work? - be specific • Information Sources will you use. This should include a list of your sources - be specific. You are required to include at least three sources in each section: o Academic Text Books o Academic Journal Articles o Websites o Other Published Sources and Databases, including identifying problems with sources (see template for guidance)
• How will / did you manage your time? o What was your plan? Outline your timings/activities plan for completing your research and meeting the assignment deadline.
• Personal Reflection (further guidance can be found on the Library website) o What did you do learn from completing this assignment? o What did you find particularly challenging or tricky?
