Tom currently lives with Parkinson's Disease, which has severely limited his mobility. He now mobilises (short distances) with a four-wheeled walking frame and requires one assist for transfers.

Tom's Parkinson's has also increased his risk of falls, particularly as he often does not want to bother anyone during the night when he gets up to use the bathroom.

Tom also lives with benign prostatic hyperplasia, hypertension and is prone to constipation.
