SIBBET QUESTIONS: THE SITUATION: Your current company has run into some "trouble," and throughout the staff, you've heard that your best option is to find another job at another business ASAP! You met someone in the store just last week who said their company, GI Boost, was looking for a team leader in one of their start-up stores. You were interested because this company has a great reputation around town. They specialize in packaging "support kits" for families of deployed troops. Thank goodness your "one-minute, self-sale" and "30-second" elevator speech were ready. Joan Jonas called and left a voice mail asking you to truly consider joining GI Boost. She wants to set up a meeting for tomorrow, to discuss the following questions.
1. I know you attend Pierce and are taking a business class. Can you explain how you would introduce yourself to the new team you would be leading? They've been together for two weeks and need help with orientation. (Label your answer 1.a and write out your "one-minute, self-sale" the label 1.b and write our your "30-second elevator speech" (Google elevator speech to get more insight on this concept) - Be ready to share your "30-second elevator speech" to the class next week, from memory.
2. Since hiring this crew, their original leader left unexpectedly. How would you build the team? We've got work that needs to get done, like yesterday.
3. How will you deal with the accountability of your team? 24 kits need to go out the door each day, and each kit takes about 20 minutes to complete.
4. Since your team has 12 employees what's your plan to use them to their full potential to get the job done?
5. How will you motivate your team and how will you deal with under performing workers? I'll be asking you these questions when you come into to interview with us next week. You'll meet with 3 of our senior staff for a very brief meeting. Don't be too anxious. Our staff are very nice, but they do want to hear solid answers from you. We are looking forward to seeing you face-to-face. Feel free to bring your answers to the meeting (to class next week).
