Introduction: When assessing Family A's situation, it was evident that the family is having a hard time adjusting to living in a new city. For instance, the family lives on a reserve where they are connected with nature and the outdoors, however, since living in Toronto they feel like they aren't connected with nature and the outdoors anymore (UofGOpenEdMultimedia, 2018c). Another example that they faced is with their daughter Cara, she is struggling making connections at school, and her parents are concerned that their daughter will continue to self-isolate (UofGOpenEdMultimedia, 2018c). Lastly, Cindy and David's other children Kindall, Shayla, Tyler and Cody are all having a hard time adjusting to the new environment and are experiencing changes with their behaviours (UofGOpenEdMultimedia, 2018c). It is important that Family A receives the appropriate support that can be beneficial for the children and the parents. These different supports can include a child life specialist, an early childhood professional, a social worker, and a child psychologist. In conclusion, the goal for each of these professionals will be to provide the support and guidance that this family needs to feel connected in a new environment.
