Overlooked Occupations or Roles
Imagine you're a research scholar and you've been given the task to shed light on a profession or role that has remained in the shadows, unnoticed by scholars and researchers. This is your opportunity to bring an overlooked area into the spotlight. Think about an occupation or role that you think hasn't been thoroughly examined or even mentioned in our course materials. Make an argument for studying this occupation or role.
1) What sets this apart from others? Is there something inherently fascinating or unusual about it that warrants closer examination?
2) How widespread is this occupation or role? Is it a hidden cornerstone of our society, or is it emerging in response to new societal needs or technological advancements?
3) Why should this area be studied? What can we learn from it about our society, economy, or human behavior?
4) If you were to conduct a study on this area, how would you go about it? What methods would you employ to gain a comprehensive understanding of the people within it?
5) Share your vision for bringing this hidden area into the research limelight. How would this study contribute to our understanding of the workforce and society at large?
