Scenario: Mon. Gerard Reno was a French researcher touring the American North and South. During his tour, he observed the working conditions of American women working under the Lowell System in Massachusetts and then observed enslaved women working on a cotton plantation in Greenville, South Carolina. He interviewed workers, owners, and supervisors in each setting. He asked them the following questions:

What is the most important priority for the owner?
How well does the owner provide for your physical needs?
How does the owner control your behavior?
What are your working conditions like?

Students with last names beginning with A-E will take the role of the factory owner and supervisor. Students with names beginning with F-J will take the role of the female factory workers. Students with names beginning with K-O will take the role of the plantation owners and overseers. Everyone else will take the role of the female enslaved field worker on the plantation.
