Some background: I am a therapeutic mentor (BSW INtern) for this question I am working with a teen who was born in the US but daughter of Cambodian immigrants.
A bit about me: straight Latina woman who is a BSW intern in my mid-40s with two kids. I immigrated to the united states and where I continued with my studies and graduated from college with an MPA. MY mom only attended 8th grade and did not attend high school in my home country. Likewise, my Dad was a police officer in the Dominican Republic. I became a teen mom when I was 17. After giving birth to my first child and failing to receive support from my child's father, I was on the welfare system and in a community college and worked hard toward achieving my goals.
