Question: "I think this video really does well to open people's eyes to the reality of Beauty and the Beast. Having seen the movie before as a child, I didn't see it that way. However, with age and an increase in knowledge, I remember rewatching it and feeling a slight amount of discomfort while watching certain scenes. Following this I remember hearing about this theory, and it felt like it had to be correct. Re-watching it once again, it almost confirmed it to me that the movie was about abuse. Having such a popular movie make abuse very clear, yet it has gone under the radar for this fact is an almost fantastic metaphor for the harsh reality of domestic violence. Many people can see signs or hints but not make the connection until someone tells them the entire truth. I think movies such as this can bring some awareness to how under the radar domestic violence can go. Oftentimes, people outside of the victim's immediate circle have no idea about abuse unless the victim decides to post to social media or go public by telling a large amount of family and friends. "
