The idea here is to write about a subject that requires some research not just opinion. You can compare two films that revolve around the same theme such as civil rights, the effects of war, censorship, classic films; or eras such as Silent Films (Chaplin and Keaton, for example), Pre-Code Era (Baby Face and It Happened One Night), WWII, Film Noir (Stranger on the Third FLoor and The Killing), The Great Depression, etc.). You need to support your thesis with at least two strong points that you find in academic sources, primarily journal articles and book excerpts, which I have placed on BB Content for this purpose. There are many articles so there's no shortage here. You can also google "How to Write a Good Research Paper" and that will help you greatly.
