As Mediator, how to resolve the conflict between the boy and his parents. A couple of things to remember are that we cannot "give" a solution to the clients - we have to make it come from them. This is where the Socratic questions come in handy. Secondly, we have to remain completely neutral.

In this case, as with any other, we run the risks of the parties getting stuck in their positions - meaning that they focus only on their original thought. How would you as a mediator get the clients to move away from their positions and to focus on their "interests"?
