The MPA director at a large university is interested in the factors that lead to successful placement of MPA students in employment. She defines successful placement of an MPA student as being offered the position that was his or her first choice for employment after completing the program. From student transcripts, she has classified students' grade point averages in the MPA program into two categories: 3.0 or below, and above 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale). From the transcripts, she also has determined whether the student took the courses in the quantitative concentration in the MPA program (these courses require the same beloved statistics book that you are using). These data appear in the accompanying tables. Based on the data, how should the MPA director advise students about how to receive successful placements?
