Introduction:

Plan communications management is the process of generating the plan for project communications which is based on the informational needs and requirements of the project stakeholders, as well as the available assets.

Objective:

Identify barriers to communication and techniques to improve communication.
Explain the major concepts associated with negotiation, including communication in negotiation; change management; decision-making; conflict resolution; motivation; power; and organizational theories.
Explain how to plan for the management of communications; and
Provide potential employers with a professional caliber writing sample.

Jody is a project manager for a major telecommunications project for his company. She is managing a project that will increase the ability of a cell phone to access a cell phone tower without increasing the strength of the signal. It is a major technological breakthrough because if the project is successful, the company will be able to cut back on the number of cell phone towers and their associated electricity expenses.

Bob is concerned with who will receive the project information, what information will these individuals need, and whether the language barriers and cross-cultural considerations will be an issue.
