Question
Following narrative summarizes an interview with an accounts clerk working for EyeTunes Club.
Members of Club whose order value exceeds $100 in a year and have a good payment record are given precedence treatment. Where a membership has been over 5 years the member will get priority treatment if order value exceeds $100 per year, in that case the club is prepared to overlook a poor payment record. If the order placed by a member of more than 2 years' standing does not exceed $100 during the year, but the member has a good payment record, after that priority treatment is also given. In all other circumstances the order is given normal action.
Q1A. Illustrate a decision table to represent type of treatment to be given to a customer of the EyeTunes Music Club. Make sure to show steps to reduced form.
Q1B. Create a structured English version based on the following dialogue obtained by the Systems Analyst from the client interview below.
"When orders arrive, they contain the customer's name and address, and, for each item in the order, item-name and quantity required. I use the item names to look up prices from the price list, calculate and write the total for each item, and add them all up to get the order subtotal. Customers get a 10 percent discount if they are good payers as in their account status is shown as "A". So I calculate this, subtract it from the order subtotal to get the order total, and add these figures to order. Or else, the order total is same as the subtotal. After that I look up the customer's name to see if they have sufficient credit to cover order-if not, the order is returned."
