Question: Identify an example from the media related to gender, sex, and/or sexuality. This can be in the form of a tv clip, a quote/scene from a book/poem/literature, a form of media advertisement, a song, etc.

Things to include in your initial post:

• A summary of what the example is (name the show, book, movie, podcast, magazine, etc.), when it was produced, who is included, what the example is about, etc. This should be in-depth enough that someone unfamiliar with the media example can understand what it is.
• Relate this to what we are learning about social problems. Remember that I am testing you on what you are learning about gender, sex, and sexuality from a social problems emphasis. Use course terminology in your explanation, and use it appropriately.
• Some things to consider including: Is this part of the dimorphic model, an inclusive model, etc.? What theories can be used to explain this? How do individuals learn from this (cultural transmission)? How is this related to the social construction of reality? Terms must be accurate - gender, sex, and sexuality and all other terms must be used correctly (you are showing what you have learned in this week's lessons).
• You must include either a remaining question, or a suggestion of how to help reduce the inequality related to gender/sexuality in our culture.
