Question: How to critique the paper of experimental research: Improving educational quality through enhancing community participation: Results from a randomized field experiment in Indonesia

Case Study: The hypothesis of the study is that instead of supporting current school committee structures or offering funding and training interventions, promoting external connections between the school committee and other parties is more beneficial

The authors' initial power calculations suggested that each hypothesis required approximately 90 schools, which is why the grant only and control groups have at least 90 schools.

• 1 control group: there was not receiving block grant, no intervention
• 1 treatment group: grant only
• 7 other treatment groups. Then, in these 7 groups, the authors also categorize into 2 main sub-groups where include 4 primary treatments (elections, linkage, grant and facilitation, and training) and 3 combinations of treatments (linkage and election, linkage and training, elections and training)
