Admirable Companies In The Changing Face of Business
In today's changing face of business, 3 factors which I would consider important when evaluating a company's performance are... The overall value of the company, how well they can change their services or goods to cater to their consumers, and lastly getting involved with the community. In my opinion when looking at the success of a company I want to see the different relationships they have with their consumers, employees, and other global well-known companies. Many companies, like Starbucks, show appreciation for their BI-POC communities not only during black history month but all year around. They also show great activeness for woman's rights, one big value that their company runs by is inclusion, diversity, and equity among everyone. That being said, Starbucks tends to their employees in numerous ways like scholarships, paid time off, and health coverage. Which as a consumer is very important to me. Another crucial aspect of an admirable company is money, but more importantly how they use their money to grow their company. Companies can make thousands and millions yet if they don't know how to invest their money for the future, the business fails to innovate. Let's use Blockbuster as an example, Blockbuster failed due to the fact that other companies were taking the opportunities that they weren't. Being at a peak in the 2000s as technology started to expand and grow, unfortunately, Blockbuster didn't. Netflix, one of its major competitors at the time, started to ship out DVDs to their customers homes blockbuster felt that their physical stores were enough to make their consumers happy, although they were wrong. By failing to be original and catering less to the market, they lost their valued customers.
Soft Skill - Career Readiness in Today's Changing Face of Business
Becoming career ready was the topic which interested me the most because I did some reflecting and asked myself that very question. I am career ready. And the answer would be no. Although, I learned numerous soft skills that employers are looking for when hiring freshly graduated college students. In our modern day, the use of digital technology is critical, almost everything uses technology nowadays. As well as communications skills, not just face to face but over the internet. Also, In some circumstances, someone needs to rise up and take charge. Having confidence in not only others but themselves needs true leadership skills. A leader helps the overall team to work together because working in groups is not all bread and butter, conflicts arise. There needs to be equity and inclusion among everyone. Personally, something I lack is professionalism, knowing how to change my character and habits at the right place and time is challenging. Demonstrating good work ethic to employers is showing up prepared, having calendars ready with rundowns of meetings or interviews is how they see their employees as professionals. Working on soft skills is something that takes time to build and unfold in many different scenarios." make a positive response to this article.
