Question

After a recent Executive Committee meeting, the Righteous Inn's General Manager and HR Manager have decided that the hotel's WHS system needs updating. It was brought up in the meeting that due to recent high turnover of staff in all departments, there has not been sufficient WHS training and induction during new staff onboarding programs. As a result, there is a fear that WHS procedures are not being followed correctly. This causes very serious concerns for both the hotel's legal compliance with WHS requirements, as well as the safety of the staff and customers. You have been provided with a sample of recent WHS documentation filled out by staff members and have been tasked with reviewing them. You are to identify any errors in these documents and submit a summary of these errors to the HR Manager with recommendations for training and implementation. Along with your findings and recommendations, you are to create a WHS training plan that involves strategies to improve the WHS training, knowledge, and compliance of Righteous Inn staff, and how this will be monitored and improved into the future, ensuring the property has an effective and successful WHS system in place.
