PROPOSED TITLE: THE DETRIMENTAL EFFECTS OF PROLONGED SIBLING SEPARATION.

Ensure that the experiment will be ethical and achievable (able to be completed.) Your research prospectus will include a title page, a brief review of the literature (discussing three to five peer-reviewed journal articles), a hypothesis, a description of the independent and dependent variables and how they will be operationalized, an explanation of the research design, the proposed method, a discussion of possible limitations, and a reference page. Research your topic, using appropriate academic sources.

Use at least three peer-reviewed journal articles that discuss your specific topic. Do not use books, newspapers, popular magazines or websites. The articles you choose will form your literature review section. The articles should directly support the hypothesis for your proposed study.you are required to choose a quantitative experimental method to examine cause and effect between an Independent Variable and a Dependent Variable. You may not choose to use qualitative or observational methods for this assignment. No journaling, no examination of archival data, no case studies.

You are also required to use an existing, published scale or survey to measure the data that you propose to collect. You will measure that data by using an existing, validated, published scale or survey. (Do not plan to create your own questions or your own survey.) You are expected to choose an existing scale or survey. Cite the source of your scale or survey, and include a copy of it in your research proposal.This is an academic paper, based on research.

As in all research papers, you should maintain objectivity, avoid bias, use appropriate language (click here to view the APA Guidelines for Inclusive Language), refrain from expressing personal opinions or sharing personal experiences, and use a formal (not casual) tone of voice. Use frequent citations from academic sources throughout your literature review section. Cite your sources in APA format, using in-text citations and corresponding full reference citations after your paper.

Here is a basic plan for the organization of the paper: You will introduce your problem and clearly state your thesis, your hypothesis and your dependent and independent variables in the opening paragraph. Next you will write the literature review section, in which you will briefly discuss at least three psychological journal articles, showing how the previous published literature supports your hypothesis. Next you will create a Methods section, and you will explain the Participants, the Materials, and the Procedure that you would use in this proposed experiment.

Next, you will skip over the Results section, because you are not actually doing the experiment. You are only proposing how and why this experiment should be done. You will not have any results to report, because you are not conducting the experiment. The final section of your paper will be the Discussion or Conclusion section in which you will discuss the possible limitations of the study (the problems you might encounter and how you will deal with them).

You will discuss the implications of your experiment, reminding the reader of the purpose of your study, explaining why the issue is worth investigating, and how this research might benefit the psychological community.
