The Health IT industry has many facets. This facet is based on the financial processes used by health organizations and is called Revenue Cycle. The Revenue Cycle is complicated in that patients have a variety of payers such as insurance companies, government agencies, or self-pay. The price is often not known ahead of time since the patient may have varying degrees of illness, hospital stay days, and medications. The health organization must collect its fees on a timely basis in order to pay its doctors and vendors. In order to collect fees in a timely manner, exact processes must be followed. Your job is to study the diagram and consider the point of view of one of the stakeholders. Write a one-page role play to understand how this would affect the employee's tasks. For example, you might say that you are part of the pre encounter team...introduce yourself and explain the steps that you must take in order to complete your tasks.
