Case: Finding the differences in several cultures is frequently simple. It is more difficult to examine your own culture, though, because after experiencing it, everything seems normal. According to the Iceberg theory, only 10% of a culture's obvious components-flags, food, costumes, and celebrations-are visible, while the other 90% are hidden and implicit, including ways of communicating and fundamental concepts of time and space that must be understood before interacting with the culture.
By completing the "What's your culture profile?" self-assessment. mention about four interesting things you discovered about your own culture using the culture scales, drawing on your assessment findings and what you learned from reading Meyer's book. It's crucial to keep in mind that what you might consider typical for someone from a different culture may not be normal for you. For instance, whereas high-context cultures might consider this action impolite, low-context cultures may value straightforward communication. I'm asking you to critically assess your own culture in this post and describe it to the rest of us using concrete examples based on the many cultural scales.
