Studies suggest that decision-makers are often looking at the world through a lens of misconceptions about themselves and about how the world works leading to unethical decisions. What are the ethical implications of this on the decision-making process of public safety professionals?

For example, assuming the research is correct, what factors may make it more or less likely that public safety professionals will have these misconceptions that can lead to unethical decision-making?
