CBM Assignment
If you are teaching remotely via zoom, google classroom or other platform:
For the CBA /CBM- are you able to have a 1:1 meeting with your a student who may be struggling in either reading or written language? If so - for reading, you could have him/her read to you orally for a fluency reading (I minute)and mark errors.
Based on the errors, identify a skill (Example: r-controlled vowels, multisyllabic words, consonant clusters, etc) that you would want to work on.
Design two lessons and teach them, then administer the same fluency reading after teaching the lessons.
For writing, provide a picture or other writing prompt (story starter) and have the student write for 4 minutes.
Look at how the student did and see what writing conventions you want to focus on - punctuation, capitalization, spelling, grammar, complete sentences, using compound sentences, etc.
Again, design two lesson to teach your focus and then retest. Examples of story starters might be:
(a).• In the morning, I opened my door and saw five horses standing in the street. Then...
(b) The boy was on his way to see a dinosaur inthe museum when...
(c).The girl found a toy in the yard that...
(c) When the woman looked outside her window one morning, she saw a large meteorite had landed in her year and...
