The recording requirements are as follows.
1. You must face the camera directly during the entire video. The camera must be on your face as you are talking. The web cam will serve as a proxy for the patient; hence, you should talk directly into the web cam as it is the patient.
2. This video is of you talking to the patient and should show you from the shoulders up.
3. You must present a professional demeanor in the video and use terminology that is appropriate for the target audience.
4. You must be professionally dressed.
5. You may have note cards you refer to, but you should be comfortable enough with the information to provide a concise and accurate response.
6. All questions must be answered.
7.The video may not exceed 7 minutes.
8. Once you have recorded the video, post your recording in the discussion board for others to watch. The video must be posted by Wednesday before 11:59pm.
You must post your video before you can view the discussion threads.
Response Instructions
After posting your video, review 3 other students' videos and analyze their communication style and the information provided. Respond to their post by addressing the following items.
1.Provide constructive feedback on what the student did well when communicating with the patient.
2.Provide constructive feedback on how the student can improve their communication with the patient.
3.Provide constructive feedback on what information the student forgot to provide to the patient.
4.Provide constructive feedback on the accuracy of the information provided to the patient.
It is best that you use the above sentences as headings in each of your replies and then provide your response to each item. This will clearly identify that you have addressed all 4 categories. Your responses must be in complete sentences, use proper grammar and sentence structure. They must be professional and kind. Posts identified to be unprofessional, mean, or inappropriate in any manner will result in a grade of zero provided for the entire assignment.
All 3 replies must be completed by Saturday at 11:59pm. Replies must be posted as a reply to the discussion board post. Do not post them as a comment to the video. Replies posted as a comment to the video will not be graded.
