Assignment:
You will submit a collection of secondary sources in preparation for your project, a proposal for a museum exhibit about a historical event or subject. Creating a collection of sources will help you find, analyze, and understand the context of historical information. Taking this step to briefly summarize each source and consider how it relates to your project will ensure you have collected credible sources that will support your ideas. Sometimes this step is called creating an annotated bibliography, and the analysis of each source is called an annotation.
Directions
Locate five secondary sources that will provide evidence for the topic of the exhibit (Seneca Falls Convention). Be sure to include sources from the module resources section and your independent research.
Then, create annotations for each of the five secondary sources. Each annotation will summarize the source, evaluate the source's credibility, identify bias, and explain how the source is relevant to the historical event or subject you chose for your project. Need references
For each source, include the following:
• Provide a full citation of the source.
• Create an APA Style citation that would appear on a References list.
• Briefly summarize the source.
• What is the main idea?
• What are two to three key points?
• Evaluate the credibility of the source.
• Use the SIFT method to "Investigate the Source."
• Who wrote it?
• When was it published?
• What organization published it?
• Explain why this author, publication date, and publishing organization makes the source credible.
• Describe any biases in the source.
• What cultural bias or personal bias is presented?
• What examples of confirmation bias exist?
• Explain the relevance to the topic.
• How does the source relate to the historic event?
• How does the source provide evidence for any of the artifacts included in the exhibit?
