The following report discusses how the shift to work-from-home during the COVID-19 pandemic has impacted productivity and morale in office environments. It will also suggest future implications and suggestions for improvement.

The coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) drastically and rapidly impacted the world in a variety of ways. COVID-19 fiercely changed the way of work causing a shift to employees working from home (WFH). WFM became widespread throughout many countries in such a way that in May 2020 approximately half of employees in the United States of America and European Union countries were WFH (Kitagawa, Kuroda, Okudaira, Owan, 2021). Similarly, in Canada approximately 37% of employees were working from home in May 2020 (Clarke & Hardy, 2022). WFM has been shown to both benefit and harm employee engagement, productivity and team morale in the workplace. This paper will demonstrate a number of examples to further explain this.
