This week, our readings take us to two Early Modern empires: the Mughal and the Ottoman. These two empires expand dramatically during this period, a growth often credited to their military strength. In this week's readings, we see examples of Mughal and Ottoman military in Emperor Babur's The Baburnama and Konstantin Mihailovic's Memoirs of a Janissary. 

For this week's discussion board,

  1. Analyze what we learn about how the Mughal and Ottoman military work from these two primary sources.
