1. In this class we have talked about how the media can affect public opinion, including through framing. What is framing? Give one example of framing and discuss how differences in framing can lead to different opinions being formed. Be clear in your example of how and why some people might form different opinions given the way an issue is framed. Argue whether you believe framing is an effective way of changing opinions on public policy.

2. Over the course of the semester, we have discussed the growing powers of the presidency. We have also discussed the ways in which the president is limited by checks and balances and separation of powers. With this in mind, discuss one aspect of the President's legislative powers. How does the President use said legislative power? Discuss the ways in which other branches of government might provide oversight. Argue whether you believe the President's role is expanding or diminishing.
