Assignment: Juvenile & Adult Offenders
Just as there are different facilities for the containment of juvenile offenders and adult offenders, there are different post-incarceration services available for juveniles and adult offenders. Juvenile probation services and adult probation services are both focused on the supervision of released offenders throughout the re-integration process. However, as discussed in the lectures from weeks four and five, there are significant differences between the duties of juvenile probation officers and adult probation officers. These differences are particularly evident in the documentation required for each category of offender.
Discussion Topic

C. Would you add anything to either system to further distinguish them and to better meet the needs of each category of offender?
