You are asked to locate a news article that relates to macroeconomic issues and to consider how the issues raised impact on your own organization.

Using the macroeconomic tools learned during the course, you will analyze the situation described in the news story. For example: (a) how the high Canadian dollar impacts on your particular business/industry; (b) how might the macroeconomic conditions that influence housing prices in your region impact your organization; or (c) what is sovereign debt and why is it proving important to your organization?

Deliverables:

•2000 word report"

"You are asked to locate a news article that relates to macroeconomic issues and to consider how the issues raised impact on your organization. For your information:

(1) If you don't have an organization that you can use or that you would like to use, please feel free to arbitrarily pick an organization out there. All papers submitted will be read by your instructor only. However, if you still have a concern, please feel free to use a fictitious organization name in your paper.

(2) How to approach the assignment? You can start with the issue(s) you would like to examine. Ask yourself: What are some of the issues that exist in my organization that I would like to address? Why are they worth considering? Because of the size of the paper, select one (or at most two) of the issues and just focus on addressing them throughout the paper. Then, think about what might be some macroeconomic concepts that you can use to analyze (or address) those issue(s) you've identified. Locate a main article and some supporting articles that discuss your identified issue(s) in relation to macroeconomics.

(3) Recommendations are NOT required in this assignment. However, there should be a concluding section that makes clear the links between your analysis and your organization.

(4) As the name of this assignment suggests, this assignment focuses on macroeconomic concepts. You're NOT required to use microeconomic concepts. However, if you feel that you must include a couple of microeconomic concepts to show a complete picture of your identified issue(s), please feel free to so - still your paper should have a macroeconomics focus.

(5) The paper should be in a report format with proper section headings and appendices (if you've any).

(6) Word Count: Required length is 2,000 words. It is okay to have +/- 200 words. Tables, figures, and graphs do not count towards the word count."
