Submission: Biblical Reflection Paper
Review and apply the following biblical concepts in light of the issues discussed in this week's activities. Which are:
Justice: The government must not favor one party over another, one business over another, or the rich over the poor. How then can economic agreements-which are also often influenced and created by governments-be just to all parties?
Inalienable Rights: since we are made in God's image, we have certain rights that cannot be given away or taken away. These include the rights to life, liberty, and property. How can the concepts of international business be based upon the protection of these rights?
Covenant: Man is sinful yet also made in God's image. To protect human freedom while at the same time limiting the human propensity for evil, the Bible seems to suggest covenantal themes of mutual accountability and concern, shared power, and limited government. How might these biblical/covenantal themes apply to the concepts in this workshop?
A 2 to 3 page paper discussing how the biblical principles listed above apply to political systems of government, economic agreements, and trade. Ensure the following points are addressed:
- Use Scripture to support discussions of the biblical concepts listed above.
- Use citations and concepts from the required reading for this workshop.
- Make clear and logical connections between biblical concepts and course concepts, specifically in three main areas: international trade theory, foreign direct investment, and regional economic integration.
