Question: Based on the readings related to stress and childhood development, it is important to recognize how strong the influence of stress can be on a child's development, and how it can have a lasting negative impact on a child's growth, behavior, and learning as they continue to age. For us to better understand and conduct further research on this subject, we need to focus on the impact of certain types of stress and the affect each type of stress can have on a child's development. For instance, we should address the symptoms, indicators, and underlying mechanisms of stress that occur at an early age. In addition, we also need to study the functions that these types of stress play in the role of a child's development in order to promote positive types of stress and to reduce negative types of stress. Furthermore, we should also focus on studying how stress can impact a child's rational thought processes and cognitive functioning, including how it can affect their growth as they continue to develop.
