1. In Cicero's On Ends, we read how the Stoics viewed humanity in terms of bonds of solidarity. We are all subject to the divine plan, and we are made for each other. We should seek the common good, not our own good, because we are part of a plan larger than ourselves. The Stoics believed that in cosmopolitanism, i.e. that we are citizens of the world, and not of particular tribes or nations. We all belong to a single city, the cosmopolis. The Stoics follow the law of the cosmos, not the arbitrary customs of any particular city.

2. Please explain these concepts in your essay. , where we read that Stoics view life as a kind of pre-scripted dance or play. Since we are all actors in the same play ruled by the universal mind, we should have brotherhood.

3. In the Time Machine, there is a time traveller that goes into a future with a debased humanity divided into two classes. First, how do these two classes show how circumstances have made them unnatural? How have social circumstances led to an unnatural division in humanity? In what manners are both the Eloi and the Morlocks unnatural caricatures of humanity? How are they failing to live according to logos, in universal brotherhood and in accordance with the divine plan written into nature? You may want to refer to pg. 66, where Cicero describes how emotions are a kind of sickness that prevents us from living according to nature.
