Sam is an 8-year-old 3rd grader from Pakistan. He has been diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes mellitus and is starting treatment with a Basal-Bolus insulin regimen. His primary caregiver after school is his non-English speaking grandmother who prepares most of the families' meals. The parents both speak and read English well. Sam also has younger and older siblings. What education concerns need to be addressed and how should they be administered for this patient and his family.
