Case: Mr. Rhodes is a 45 year old male seen in the emergency department for right sided abdominal pain, nausea, and vomiting. The patient is diagnosed with appendicitis and scheduled for surgery at 8am the next morning.

Essential Hypertension
Current Medications
Lisinopril 10 mg PO QD
Current Orders:
NPO until surgery
Normal Saline 9% at 125 ML/HR x 24 hours
Morphine 2mg IVP Q 4 hours PRN pain
Rocephin 2g IV X 1 now
Incentive Spirometry use Q 2 hours while awake until 48 hours post-op.
