Self-Reflection Analysis

For this assignment, you will be writing a paper which is an introspective evaluation of your thoughts about your strengths and weaknesses as a future therapist/counselor.

In this paper, you are being asked to integrate the subject matter that has been studied and covered in this class. At the same time, this paper must be about you as you relate to the myriad of legal, ethical and professional issues you are learning about, including special populations.

Your writing will be evaluated on how seriously you are willing to think about yourself as a therapist/counselor - your strengths and weaknesses - as related to the subject matter of this class. You are not expected to include every item studied in class.

Neither should you limit yourself to only one topic. You should include a discussion of how your values would influence the manner in which you think about ethical issues and how you would resolve an ethical dilemma. Suggestions for items you might want to include in your paper are countertransference issues, multicultural issues, informed consent, establishing boundaries, etc.. However, do not limit yourself to these suggestions. Include your thoughts and or concerns in working with special populations (HIV/AIDS, Prison, etc.).
