Based on Klingle, pp. 86-118, write a 2-3 page paper that discusses briefly how R. H. Thomson gained planning power and then concentrates on who he considered as his "customer" for his plans. Did his view of who his customer was shape his planning decisions, i.e. did it determine who would benefit and who would not?

1. How R H Thomson gained planning power

2. Who did he consider his customer for his plans?

3. Did his view of who his customer was shape his planning decisions?

Broken down, you can see the essay has three elements you need to address. You need to come up with a thesis point (sentence) that addresses each. And then support those thesis ideas with evidence.

Start with a thesis paragraph that contains all three parts (all three thesis ideas)

Body of essay - a paragraph (or two at most) on each idea - make sure each paragraph starts with a topic sentence that relates back to a thesis point.

Paragraph one: Start with thesis point on how R H Thomson gained planning power - then develop idea with evidence

Paragraph two: Start with thesis point on who he considered as his customer - then develop diea with evidence.

Paragraph three - Start with a thesis point that address how his view of his customer shaped his planning decisions

If any of the points need more explanation, add a second paragraph, but make sure it also has a topic sentence so the reader knows what thesis point is being discussed.
