The objective of this assignment is to assess your understanding of ICT project management concepts and your proficiency in using various ICT project management skills. In particular, the assignment focuses on the following project management knowledge areas in the PMBOK: project quality management, project human resource management, project communication management, project risk management, procurement management, and project stakeholder management
You have been hired as a consultant by a Private Medical Association of Australia (PMAA). The Private Medical Association of Australia (PMAA) has agreed to implement Private Electronic Patient Records (PEPR) as a way of updating its existing theatre management system (TMS) and patient administration system (PAS). The project plan demonstrates enormous complexity. PEPR as a project has many subprojects such as patient administration system, patient scheduling system, theatre resource management system (TRMS) etc. for the PAS. Additionally, each project has sub-systems. For example, the theatre management system comprises utilization and patient tracking, stock control, theatre scheduling, etc. The decision to arrive at PAS and theatre management system took much deliberation and considerations by PMAA leadership given the myriad of related technologies and service providers.
As a consultant your immediate task is to provide a detailed report of how to effectively manage this complex project.
The management board would like you to keep the focus of your report centered on a better way of managing what appears to be suits of projects that are related. As this involves multiple departments and stakeholders, they would like to see a high-level engagement and management of project stakeholders.
As a consultant your task is to develop a professional business report for the state PMAA. In the business report, you are expected to provide a complete detailed report advising approaches to managing this complex project. Your business/project document submission should include the following as per the assignment requirements below.
1. Develop a high-level document that outlines how quality planning effects project scope management
2. In the context of this project, justify with evidence, ways in which tools and techniques for quality control, such as the Seven Basic Tools of Quality, statistical sampling, Six Sigma, and testing could help improve the quality of the project
3. In the context of this project, with justification, come up with a communication and team management plan you will use for distributing project information and the advantages and disadvantages of each plan. Discuss the importance of addressing individual communication needs, and the number of communications channels in a project. TABLE FORMAT ACCEPTED
4. Given the nature of this project, identify and justify the potential ethical issues that may arise within this project. TABLE FORMAT ACCEPTED
5. Given the nature of this project there are potential sources of risk in this project. Define, a means of identifying them and a plan to manage/mitigate their impact on the entire project success. TABLE. FORMAT ACCEPTED
6. In the context of this project, justify the importance of procurement and describe the work involved in planning procurements for this project, including determining the proper type of contract to use and prepare a procurement management plan, statement of work, and source selection criteria.
