TASK 1: SKILLS ACTIVITY
Objective: To provide you with an opportunity to show you have the required skills for this unit.
This activity will enable you to demonstrate the following skills:
• Uses feedback to grow and develop own skills and experience and applies practical strategies to facilitate learning
• Applies appropriate strategies to construct meaning from complex texts
• Develops and updates roles and plans using language and structure to suit the audience
• Designs and develops documents according to organisational formats
• Participates in a range of verbal exchanges using clear and detailed language to provide relevant information
• Uses active listening and questioning techniques to confirm understanding
• Contributes to the design of organisational policies and protocols that support the organisation's goals
• Understands responsibilities of own role and its contribution to broader goals of the work environment
• Selects and uses appropriate conventions and protocols when communicating with stakeholders to share information
• Encourages a collaborative culture within own sphere of influence, investing time in building and maintaining effective working relationships and facilitating respect and commitment between stakeholders

Answer the activity in as much detail as possible, considering requirements of Native Bush Spice Australia. The relevant information has been provided in Appendix ‘Case Study - Native Bush Spice Australia' and ‘Project Management Policy and Procedures'.
1. Using feedback from stakeholders, which reflects how program leadership was implemented for the program in the case study, demonstrate how you have learned from this program you have been involved in by using the feedback to grow and develop own skills and experience. What practical strategies did you implement to facilitate learning?
2. Read, extract the meaning and summarise a workplace document regarding program leadership (Max 200 words).
3. Design and develop a plan which assigns roles to team members, according to organisational formats. You should use language and structure to suit the audience.
4. Provide evidence to demonstrate that you have participated in a range of verbal exchanges using clear and detailed language to provide relevant information. You must use oral communication skills in at least three different verbal exchanges, using active listening and questioning techniques to confirm understanding.
5. Describe how you have contributed to the design of organisational policies and protocols that support the organisation's goals.
6. Interact with others ensuring that you:
a. Select and use appropriate conventions and protocols when communicating with stakeholders to share information
b. Encourage a collaborative culture within own sphere of influence, investing time in building and maintaining effective working relationships and facilitating respect and commitment between stakeholders
c. Foster a climate where individual differences are respected and valued
d. Understand the importance of honouring own obligations.
7. Carry out work leading a program as per the information provided in the case study ensuring that you:
a. Organise and implement tasks required to action knowledge management plans
b. Make a range of critical and non-critical decisions in relatively complex situations, taking a range of factors into account
c. Identify issues and use problem-solving skills to evaluate options and decide on appropriate actions.
TASK 2: KNOWLEDGE ACTIVITY
Objective: To provide you with an opportunity to show you have the required knowledge for this unit.
Answer each question in as much detail as possible, considering Native Bush Spice Australia requirements provided in previous task.
1. Identify and compare two different management behavioural models.
2. Explain three different communication styles; their characteristics and what they are used for, and three negotiating styles or approaches.
3. Describe current ethics, equity and fairness norms, regulations and legislation (max. 250 words). You should cover the following in your answer:
a. The Product Stewardship Act 2011
b. The Competition and Consumer Act 2010
c. Anti-discrimination laws
d. The Fair Work Act 2009
4. List three learning and development methods and strategy.
5. Compare two different possibilities for your program's vision. Describe why one is better than the other.
TASK 3: PERFORMANCE ACTIVITY
Objective: To provide you with an opportunity to demonstrate the required performance elements for this unit.
This activity will enable you to demonstrate the following performance evidence:
• Display effective communication skills to liaise with stakeholders
• Demonstrate ethical behaviour
• Model leadership skills to lead a program
• Negotiate a program vision with others
• Lead a program to develop and sustain the documented program vision
• Embed confidence, trust, ethical and sustainable practices in an enterprise program
• Develop and support personnel within the program environment
• Design knowledge management methods and processes.
Answer the activity in as much detail as possible, considering requirements of Native Bush Spice Australia. The relevant information has been provided in Appendix ‘Case Study - Native Bush Spice Australia' and ‘Project Management Policy and Procedures'.
1. Display effective communication skills to liaise with stakeholders including:
a. Using active listening techniques

6. Embed confidence, trust, ethical and sustainable practices in an enterprise program by:
a. Encouraging open discussion
b. Managing differences and conflicts
c. Resolving issues in a timely way
7. Develop and support personnel within the program environment by:
a. Establishing behavioural expectations
b. Defining, documenting and communicating program roles
c. Encouraging desirable behaviours and discouraging undesirable behaviours
