This media examples will be looking at how hostage situations and police tactics are represented in movie media. The movies for analysis are Speed (1994) and Die Hard (1988). While watching these films pay attention to how the concept of hostage situations and police tactics is expressed both in similarities as well as differences. From there, using your criminal justice knowledge, how do these representations compare to the real world? What parts of the CRJ process did these movies get wrong? Right? Could the issues give non-CRJ viewers the wrong ideas about hostage situations and police tactics? Response should be 1250 to 1500 words.
