Question-
For this assessment task the student is asked to select a health care environment with which the student is familiar and analyse how organisational culture can be harnessed to drive an innovative practice within the environment. The essay is required to address cultural aspects of innovative practice relevant to an improvement in health outcome/s and/or patient safety from the perspective of a health administrator. Relevant concepts included in the analysis might be: continuous quality improvement, the learning environment, resistance to change and effective team work.
This assessment task will extend the student's exploration of the selected topic by applying the findings of the annotated bibliography, along with other relevant academic literature, to their current or previous work environment in order to analyse innovation in health care in relation to organisational culture, in a health care setting with which they are familiar. The student will reflect on their experience and compare and contrast with relevant literature and research, including the literature chosen for the annotated bibliography.
